Location and condition alerts for Shipments and Trackers are configured with Alert Preset. To receive alerts regarding your shipment or tracker, create an alert Preset and apply it to the shipment/tracker.
Create a new Alert Preset
There are two ways to create an Alert Preset:
1. On the top blue bar, click Configure > Alert Presets. Next, click the green “Create New Preset” button in the upper-right.
2. Navigate to the specific shipment or tracker for which you would like to create an Alert Preset. Click “Alerts”, and then click “Create New Alert Preset”.
Once you reach the "Create Alert Preset" page, fill in the blank spaces by giving your Alert Preset a unique name and a description.
The "Notify Users" dropdown will allow you to navigate the Platform users and external users and choose the ones you want to receive these alerts.
Alert triggers of your choice can then be enabled, such as Departure and Arrival, Route Deviation; a threshold for Temperature/Humidity, etc.
- Shipment Alerts
Enable receiving an Alert if a Shipment:
- departs the Ship From address (beyond 1 km)
- arrives at the Ship To address (within 1 km)
- delivery is likely to arrive later than the ETA (road shipments only)
- Route Alerts:
Enable notifications on Route Deviation and Prolonged Stops.
- Once you've completed an over-the-road truck Shipment, select it as a Route. You will be alerted if the driver deviates from that route by more than 3 to 40 km.
- Enable alerts for a shipment that stops in one place for more than 6 hours.
- Geofence: Click "Add Geofence" to open the Create Location Perimeter Alert dialog:
Location Name: give the location a unique name (e.g. My Airport)
Location Address: type the address, click the auto-completed value.
Alert When: select Inside or Outside the blue circle
Use the slider on the left to select the radius or switch to Custom Shape and create the Geofence you want.
To enable temperature alerts you can set a threshold by entering a below and above value. If the temperature leaves the set range you will be notified.
To configure humidity alerts you can set a threshold by entering a below and above value. If humidity leaves the set range you will be notified.
- Ambient Light
Alert when ambient light exceeds the pre-configured threshold. Only configured by Tive Support for a specific luminosity threshold.
- Shock Events
Alert when the tracker experiences a shock event. Contact us to reconfigure your tracker's threshold for low-range/high-sensitivity (i.e. alerts upon drops of less than 4").
Alert when a tracker failed to transmit to Tive Platform for 2 to 5 transmission intervals; read this Troubleshooting FAQ. Click the checkbox to be notified when the tracker is "seen" again.
- Battery Power
To be alerted when the battery is low, insert the battery percentage you would like to be notified upon.
- User Assignee
Select Users that should receive notifications corresponding to the alerts in this Alert Preset.
- External User Assignee
Select External Users to send an e-mail or SMS alert to.
- Webhook Push Notification
Select a Webhook to send the alert to. Read the Webhooks guide first.
Edit an existing Alert Preset
To view all Alert Presets: On the top blue bar, click Configure > Alert Presets.
To view the Alert Presets associated with a particular shipment or tracker: navigate to that shipment or tracker, click the “Alerts” tab, and then click “Configure”. The names and user assignees of all Alert Presets currently applied to that shipment or tracker will be visible on the right side of the screen.
To edit an existing Alert Preset, navigate to the Alert Presets and click “Edit” next to the title of the Preset. You can then edit any of the Alert Preset fields. When you are finished, click “Save and Close”. The Alert Preset will now be updated, and any changes you have made will apply to all trackers and shipments that use that Preset.
Assign an existing Alert Preset
To apply an Alert Preset, navigate to a shipment or tracker and click “Alerts”. If the shipment or tracker currently has no Alert Presets applied to it, just click the green "Select an Existing Alert Preset" button. If it already has an Alert Preset applied to it, click “Configure”, and then click “Apply Alert Preset”. You can then select any of your existing Alert Presets from the drop-down menu to add it to the shipment or tracker.
Alert Events: List and Graph
In addition to sending notifications to the users assigned in the Alert Preset, all triggered alerts will also be visible as Events. View events by navigating to a particular shipment or tracker and clicking “Alerts”.
Events display the alert type and timestamp for when the alert was triggered. For example, if you set an alert to notify you when a shipment reaches a certain location, the event will be stored in the Events list once the alert is triggered. Click on an event to see additional event details.
